How to Fix Windows 10 stuck on Welcome Screen?

Various factors, such as a faulty system update or an unrelated software issue, can cause a Windows 10 computer to get stuck on the Welcome screen, and this can sometimes happen unexpectedly. Below are the solutions you need to follow to fix a Windows 10 computer that is stuck on the Welcome screen:
1. Disable All Connected Devices
Detaching all peripherals from your PC might seem like a simplistic approach, but it’s a proven troubleshooting step that can get your system past the Welcome screen. Peripheral devices such as USB drives, external keyboards, or even a mouse can sometimes interfere with the boot process due to hardware conflicts or errors.
By removing these external devices, you allow your computer to start without any potential disruptions, helping to fix the issue. Once you’ve successfully logged in, you can then reconnect each device one by one to identify if a particular piece of hardware was causing the problem.
2. Disconnect from the Internet

- At the bottom left of the Welcome screen, you will find a power button. Click on this button.
- While holding the Shift key, click on Restart from the options that appear above the Power button.
- In the Advanced Recovery Options menu, select Troubleshoot.
- Choose Advanced Options.
- Click on Startup Repair. On some versions of Windows 10, this may be listed as Automatic Repair.
4. Use a Bootable CD/USB for System Repair

- When the installation window appears, select Repair your computer found at the bottom left side of the screen.
- Choose Troubleshoot in the following window.
- Select Startup Repair.
- Choose the operating system to repair, which is Windows 10, in this case.
- Wait for the process to finish and then restart your computer.
5. Run System Checks Using Command Prompt
By executing specific commands, you search for and repair corrupted files, inspect the disk for bad sectors, and fix boot-related issues—all of which could be causing the system to hang on the Welcome screen.
