How to Fix Tekken 8 Stuck on Loading Screen (PC & Console)

Tekken 8 may occasionally get stuck on the loading screen, particularly after a ranked match. This issue is commonly reported by Xbox and PC users. At times, it can be due to a minor glitch that may be resolved with a simple restart. If you encounter this problem on Xbox, try unplugging the console and then plugging it back in to resolve the issue.

This loading issue often occurs when there are too many background applications or overlays running alongside Tekken 8. Additionally, compatibility problems with Tekken 8 could lead to such problems.

Furthermore, this issue can often be resolved by restarting the game multiple times. If doing this does not solve the problem, consider trying the following methods:

1. Disable Steam Overlay

The Steam overlay provides access to various Steam features during gameplay. Although it’s a helpful feature, it also requires ample system resources, which may cause this loading issue.

  1. Open Steam and go to the Library.
  2. Right-click on Tekken 8 and select Properties.
  3. Uncheck the option for Enable the Steam overlay while in-game.
  4. After disabling the overlay, check to see if the loading issue has been resolved.

2. Launch the Game from the Installation Folder

Oddly enough, launching the game directly from its installation folder can resolve issues like black screens and infinite loading. We recommend trying this step before moving on to other solutions.

  1. Navigate to Library within Steam.
  2. Right-click on Tekken 8, hover over Manage, and select Browse Local Files.
  3. Launch Tekken 8 by double-clicking its executable file.
  4. Check whether the issue remains after launching the game this way.

3. Verify the Game Files

To address the loading problem, verifying the game files is crucial, as it can repair any corruption within the game files.

  1. Launch Steam and proceed to the Library.
  2. Right-click on Tekken 8 and choose Properties.
  3. Select Local Files on the left and click on Verify integrity of game files.
  4. Launch Tekken 8 after the verification process and check if the problem has been resolved.

4. Delete the Save Game Files

Corrupted save game files can also cause loading issues. By deleting these files from the AppData folder, you can eliminate this possibility. The game will automatically regenerate the save files upon relaunch.

  1. Right-click the Start Menu on the bottom left and choose the Run option.
  2. Type %appdata% in the input box and click OK to open the folder.
  3. Navigate to the Local folder.
  4. Locate and delete the folder named Tekken 8.
  5. After deletion, launch the game to check if the issue has been resolved.

  1. In Steam, go to Library, right-click Tekken 8, hover over Manage, and select Browse Local Files.
  2. Right-click on Tekken 8 and choose Properties.
  3. Switch to the Compatibility tab and check Run this program in compatibility mode for, selecting Windows 8 from the dropdown menu.
