Spider-Man 3 Spotted in Insomniac’s Leaked Internal Documents

Insomniac Games suffered a massive data breach yesterday, with majority of their projects and employee data being leaked to ransomware group, Rhysida. The group is demanding almost $2M in Bitcoin for all of the data within a week-long deadline.

As proof of the data they possess, Rhysida released an image showcasing what they potentially have. The image included screenshots from the unreleased Marvel’s Wolverine game, internal emails and even employee passports.

Within that image however, users noticed something pretty interesting — a mention of Marvel’s Spider-Man 3. Now, the image has to be really cropped in since it wasn’t a decent resolution, but it mentioned SM3, which many assume to be the successor to this year’s critically acclaimed Spider-Man 2.

One interesting bit to note here is that the game also includes Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as “planned projects,” so it is safe to assume that the internal email is not recent, and probably dates back to before 2020.

As for Spider-Man 3, we don’t really know if the game is in development, or if it is simply in the planning stage at the moment. However, with the success that Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 generated and the way the game ended, it wasn’t odd to assume that there would be a sequel. But, the leaked image, just confirms that Insomniac had plans for a Spider-Man trilogy all along.
