Silent Hill 2 Gameplay is Here & It’s Not Looking Good

During PlayStation’s State of Play 2024, Sony and Konami gave us a new look into the Silent Hill 2 remake, and it is safe to say that James Sunderland knows how to swing a bat. The legendary 2001 survival horror game is currently in the hands of Bloober and whether they can deliver a modern version is yet to be known.

The trailer wasn’t filled with interesting details but it had a lot of action to take into as we got a look at the reworked combat system we can expect to see in the game. Apart from that, we can catch a few shots of James Sunderland in a foggy and dull environment.

Bloober Team has been quiet about the Silent Hill 2 remake since 2022 and from the trailer, it seems like the development needs a few hands. Throughout most of the trailer, we can see James swinging his bat around trying to fight his way around Silent Hill, but for a trailer that is focused on combat, it just feels a bit “unfinished.

However, it’s still way too early to tell where the game will land once it gets close to completion. While the remake will have a modernized take and a gameplay fit for current gaming standards, we hope it lives up to those promises and truly captures Silent Hill 2.

Silent Hill 2 is set to come for PS5 and PC in collaboration with Akira Yamaoka and Masahiro Ito. Let us know in the comment section how you feel about the new Silent Hill 2 look!
