Mobile Port of Slay the Spire Might Be Coming Soon

The mobile port of Slay the Spire is one of the most anticipated games of this year. It is a roguelike game developed by MegaCrit and published by Humble Bundle for all platforms, including consoles, Windows, Linux, and macOS in 2019. The game was praised because of its procedurally generated levels, enemies, and the collectible card-based combat system.

The game has four characters allowing for different playstyles, most importantly the fact that each level (Spire of multiple floors) can be passed using different approaches. The massive potential of variability makes the experience worthwhile even after hours of playthrough.

The expected release of the mobile port was in 2019, but the game was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Back in January, it was announced that the game was going through “quality assurance” stages, which means the actual release was imminent. Now the director Anthony Giovannetti has tweeted that they should have an announcement regarding the mobile port in the next 30 days.

According to pocket gamer, it is not confirmed whether the announcement will be regarding the release of the game. However, after a whole year of speculation, it is reasonable to assume that the announcement may turn out to be a release date of the game.

Much like many other games on the mobile platform, many clones of Slay the Spire are already in the Play Store. However, these games fail to deliver the smart and varied experience that the original boasts. If you are hoping to play the game on the go, Nintendo’s Switch remains the only option for now.
