Microsoft regularly releases the latest cumulative updates for all supported versions of Windows 10. The Redmond giant recently rolled out KB4532695 cumulative update for Windows 10 version 1903 and 1909. The cumulative update brings a handful of fixes, including the bug fix for File Explorer issues.
Just like all other cumulative updates, this one comes with its own set of issues. Unfortunately, people have encountered numerous issues after installing the cumulative update. Some users reported on official forums that the installation of this update forced their systems to go into boot cycles:
“As soon as i got the latest update, i keep going in these boot cycles… Just endless, telling me an error had been found… Then when Windows boots up, it eventually crashes. I’ve reinstalled Windows from an ISO image, same problems. I’ve restored from a back up from three weeks ago, same problems. I’ve come realize that this new update is huge trouble.”
KB4532695 Forces PCs To Stuck On Welcome Screen
Another user claimed that the PC gets stuck on the welcome screen due to this problematic update:
“Installed this in an Intel NUC8i3BEH and encountered very slow boot times. Windows would get stuck at splash or welcome screen for around 5 minutes. I deinstalled this update and reinstalled twice, with the same results. It is now deinstalled. It works fine on Surface Pro (5).”
Admittedly, it seems to be a bug that is specifically related to this particular update. As several users confirmed that the uninstallation of the update helped them to get rid of the problem. However, the actual issue that caused this problem is still unknown.
If your PC is one of the affected devices, you may need to wait for February Patch Tuesday updates for a solution. For now, you can uninstall the cumulative update to avoid boot issues on your system.
