First GTA 6 Trailer Reveals Vice City & 2025 Release Date

Almost 15 hours before the trailer for GTA VI was scheduled to premiere on December 5, 2023 at 9 AM ET, Rockstar Games, in a surprise move, published the full trailer to YouTube after someone leaked the whole thing.

The trailer itself seems to be in line with a lot of the leaks we saw earlier within the past year, with a female protagonist, Lucia, and the Vice City setting. The trailer showcases the Miami nightlife and typical GTA gameplay elements with the American society, the pop culture, illicit activities, full of ill-gotten cash, fast cars, and a variety of ammunition.

Lucia, the game’s main protagonist, is shown in the trailer wearing a prison jumpsuit at the beginning. She later goes on to commit a number of crimes with her boyfriend. In the trailer, she is heard saying: “The only way we’re going to get through this is by sticking together, being a team.” Later, we see Lucia and her boyfriend engaging in a car chase with the police, and robbing a store.

While it doesn’t look too different from what a lot of people were expecting, it’s the quintessential Grand Theft Auto formula — mixing up an open-world adventure with humorous content, unfettered criminal action, and generally, a great, immersive story.

The trailer confirms that GTA VI will be released in 2025; however, it doesn’t specify the platforms on which it will be released. After all, the game was in the queue for ten long years, and it’s a day that most people would probably have lived to see.

Everything, from the character models to the overall lighting, animation, and the role of NPCs, has apparently undergone a massive upgrade. The trailer does give off a hint of the original Vice City, and after a decade of waiting, it feels like Rockstar has delivered.

Update: A press release from Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games has confirmed that the game would be releasing on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, but doesn’t mention a PC release.

This is all we know for, but rest assured that we will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
