Fix: “RPC Executor Service Threw An Error” when Signing Into Google Account

“RPC Executor Service Threw An Error” is a common issue when signing into a Google Account, particularly after performing a factory reset. This error indicates that the RPC (Remote Procedure Call) executor is unable to establish communication with the server, preventing login attempts. Typically, this RPC executor facilitates server interactions, specifically with Google.

The error often occurs post-system reset as Google Play services are reverted to the firmware’s original version, which may be outdated. Consequently, the RPC fails to interface with the server and triggers the error message.

While this error primarily occurs on mobile devices, it can also manifest on PCs when using Chrome or other browsers. Having discussed the causes, let us now move on to the potential solutions.

1. Disable Ad Blocker Extension

Ad blockers can inhibit RPC communication with the server during user authentication. If you experience this error on a PC, ensure that you are not running any ad blocker extension or application in the background. To fix the error message, simply uninstall the ad blocker extension or application.

1.1 Ad Blocker Extension

  1. Click the three dots in the top-right corner, hover over Extensions to access the options.
  2. Select Manage Extensions to review installed extensions.
  3. If an ad blocker extension is installed, click Remove to delete it.
  4. After removal, attempt signing into your Google Account to check if the error has been resolved.

1.2 Ad Blocker Application

  1. Access Settings by pressing the Win + I keys together.
  2. Navigate to Apps on the left pane and select Installed Apps.
  3. Find the ad blocker application, click the three dots, and then choose Uninstall.
  4. Confirm by clicking Uninstall again.
  5. Finally, try signing into your Google account once more.

2. Clear the Google Play Services Cache & App Data

Google Play services issues on your Android device may be preventing you from signing into your Google account. It is advisable to clear the cache and app data of Google Play services on your mobile device to correct this error.

  1. Launch the Settings app on your mobile device.
  2. Navigate to Apps > Installed Apps or Manage Apps.
  3. Select Google Play Services from the list of apps.
  4. Tap on Clear all data and confirm by tapping OK.
  5. Check if the error has been resolved following this action.

3. Create a New Profile

If the problem persists, consider creating a new profile in your browser and then attempt to sign in using this new profile.

  1. Click the three dots in the top-right corner of the browser window.
  2. Hover over your account name, then click on Add New Profile before signing into your account.

4. Wait for Google Play Services to Update Itself

Following an Android device reset, if you encounter this error, it could be due to outdated Google Play services. Since a device reset reverts Google Play services to the older firmware version, you may need to wait for it to update automatically.

Keep your phone connected to Wi-Fi and allow a few hours for the update to take place. Subsequently, Google Play services should update itself, allowing you to sign in to your Google Account.

For manual updates, refer to How to Update Google Play Services.
