Therefore, in order to fix this, you will have to delete your browser cookies.
  • YouTube History — As it turns out, in some scenarios, the issue can also be triggered by your browser’s history. Your browser stores the history of the sites you visit so that you can easily access them. In some cases, this can cause the said issue with YouTube and in order to fix this, you will have to delete your browser history.
  • Third-Party Addons — Finally, another thing that can result in the said issue are the third-party add-ons that you installed on your browser. Third-party add-ons are known to cause several issues and in this particular case, adblock addons are often held the responsible party. Therefore, you will have to get rid of the culprit third-party add-on to fix this.

With that various possible causes of the issue now out of the way, let us get into the fixes that you can implement to get the comments section back. Let us get started.

Method 1: Clear Browser Cookies and History

As it turns out, when you are facing the mentioned issue, the first step you should do to troubleshoot the issue is to clear your browser cookies. They are used by almost every website on the internet to save your preferences and other data on your browser. Thus, when you visit the website again, they can easily load your preferences and as a result, improve your overall user experience. However, in some cases, cookies can also cause certain issues with the site such as this one. Therefore, the first step in resolving this would be to clear the browser cookies.

Along with cookies, your browser history can also be at times the culprit in this said issue. As per several user reports, the issue was solved for them after they cleared their browser history. Therefore, instead of doing this one-by-one, we can clear both in a go. However, please note that doing this will delete your whole history. Thus, your browser won’t remember any of the websites that you have visited so keep that in mind. Follow the steps down below to do so:

  1. First of all, open up your Chrome browser.
  2. Then, at the top-right corner, click on the More button indicated by the three parallel dots.
  3. From the drop-down menu, go to More Tools and then select Clear browsing data.
    Chrome More Menu
  4. Then, on the Clear browsing data pop-up dialog box,  make sure the Browsing history and Cookies and other site data options are ticked.
  5. Finally, for the time range, just All time from the drop-down list. In case you do not want to delete your all-time history, you can also specify a certain period within which the issue surfaced.

  6. Once you have done that, click the Clear data option to clear your browser history and cookies.
  7. After that, open up YouTube again to see if the comments are loaded.

Method 2: Disable Third-Party Add-ons

Third-party addons are often useful and provide extra functionality. However, in some cases, they also cause certain issues, and thus, you will have to remove them until the issue has been resolved by the owner of the add-on. Most users use Adblock add-ons to get rid of the different ads that are displayed by various sites. As it turns out, the adblock can cause the said issue in some cases as confirmed by a user. However, if you are not using an adblocker, the other extensions may also be causing the issue. Therefore, you will have to locate the responsible add-on. Now, in order to do this, what you can do is first check if the issue persists without any add-ons. In case it does not, this means the issue is being caused by the add-ons.

Now, to do this, follow the instructions down below:

  1. To launch Chrome without add-ons, you can use the Incognito window. By default, all the add-ons are disabled in incognito mode unless you allow them manually.
  2. Therefore, make sure you have all the add-ons disabled for incognito mode by going to More > More Tools > Extensions.
    Google Chrome Extensions
  3. There, go to the Details page of every add-on, scroll down, and make sure the Allow in incognito option is disabled.
    Extension Details
  4. After that, open up an incognito mode and see if the issue is resolved.
  5. If it is, disable all the addons on your browser and then start enabling them one-by-one to locate the responsible add-on.
  6. Once you have found the responsible add-on, remove it and you should be good to go.
