EA Games Facing Widespread SSL Connection Errors on PS4 & PS5

EA games with multiplayer support have started to face an unexpected error that makes the screen go blank mid-gameplay. Upon searching through EA help forums, we have concluded that there are numerous reports of players facing errors like:

  • Error: 0x00000023
  • SslError: 0x00000000
  • SSL Connection Error

Players are facing issues in games, including Need for Speed Unbound, Battlefield 2042, FIFA 23, Madden 23, and Apex Legends. Most players are encountering these errors on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5

What Causes SSL Error in EA Games on PlayStation

You can face this issue if your EA account is not connected with your console id, which in this case is the PSN ID. So, if the PSN account on your PlayStation is not connected to the EA account that you are using in-game, then problems like SSL connection errors can interrupt your gameplay.

How to Solve this Error?

You will be pleased to know that  EA’s community manager has already addressed this issue on the EA help forums and has come up with a simple solution to eliminate the SSL connection error on your PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 while playing the multiplayer EA games:

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out. This is on our radar and we’re looking into it. In the meantime, there seems to be a workaround. Could you give the following a try please:

  1. Close the game
  2. Go to ea.com and choose to Sign In.
  3. Choose your console’s login option.
  4. Follow the instructions and link your console and EA accounts if prompted.
  5. Start the game back up.

That may do the trick but if that doesn’t help, could you try another workaround that may help those with Login Verification active.

Even after trying this workaround, you still face the same error in PlayStation 4. Then you can have a look at a detailed guide here to fix this issue altogether.

I hope the solutions provided in this article were enough to solve this significant connection error that has broken out recently.
