To solve the dev error 6065, follow the solutions mentioned below.

Solution 1: Disable G-Sync (NVIDIA card users)

The G-Sync feature is used to eliminate screen tearing that can happen when your GPU has thrown so many frames that cannot be handled by the display unit of your system. Although G-Sync has its advantages, it can cause many gaming errors including the dev error 6065. In that case, disabling the G-sync may solve the problem.

  1. Exit the game.
  2. Open your NVIDIA control panel.
  3. In the left pane of the NVIDIA control panel window, expand the Display option, and then click on Set up G-Sync.
  4. In the right pane of the window, uncheck the option of Enable G-Sync.
    Disable G-Sync
  5. Now relaunch Call of Duty and check if it is clear of the dev error 6065.

Solution 2: Disable Full-Screen Optimizations

Windows 10 has a feature of “Full-screen optimization”, which allows the Windows to optimize the performance and video quality of the applications and games when launched in the full-screen mode. However, this mode has a known history to create many gaming issues. The same could be the case for the Dev Error 6065. To rule that out, disabling “Full-screen optimization” may solve the problem.

Exit the game and kill all its running processes through the task manager. For illustration, we will discuss the process for the Blizzard client.

  1. Launch the Blizzard Battle.net client.
  2. In the right pane of the window, locate and click on the icon of Call of Duty.
  3. In the game’s menu, click on the Options drop-down and then click on Show in Explorer.
Show Call of Duty in Explorer

  6. Check the checkbox of “Disable Full-Screen Optimizations,” and then click on Apply/Ok to save the changes.
Check the box next to “Disable fullscreen optimizations”

Solution 3: Tweaks with the Call of Duty Folder

Call of Duty saves different game configuration files in the Players and Players 2 folder (both folders are located inside the Call of Duty folder). If the wrong configurations are causing the error 6065, then renaming these two folders may solve the problem as on relaunching the game, these two folders will be recreated with the default configurations.

  1. Exit the game and kill all its related processes through the Task Manager.
  2. Now open the File Explorer and navigate to the Call of duty documents folder. Usually, it is located on the following path:
Documents\Call of Duty (your variant of the game) \
  3. Now find and rename the Players and Players 2 folders.
Rename the Players and Players 2 Folder
  4. Then relaunch the game and check if it is working fine.
  5. If not, then exit the game.
  6. Now open the Call of Duty documents folder again (as mentioned in step 2) and copy all of its contents to a safer place.
  7. After copying the contents of the Call of Duty folder, delete all its contents.
  8. Now relaunch the game and check if it is working fine.

Solution 4: Scan and Repair the Call of Duty’s Game Files

If your game files have corrupted, then you are prone to face different kinds of problems including the Dev Error 6065. In that case, using the built-in functionality of the launcher to scan and repair the game files may solve the problem. For illustration, we will discuss the process for Blizzard client, you may follow the instructions as per your gaming client.

  1. Launch the Blizzard app.
  2. In the left pane of the app interface, click on the icon of Call of Duty.

Solution 5: Tweaks with the Graphics Card and its Driver

Misconfiguration of Graphics card and its drivers can cause many gaming/system issues including the dev error 6065. To overcome the dev 6065, follow the undermentioned tweaks.

Disable Extra Graphics Card

If your system has more than one graphics card, then disabling the integrated one may solve the problem.

  1. Exit the game.
  2. Disable Integrated Graphics Card using administrator access.
  3. After disabling the graphics card, launch the game and check if it is working fine.

Roll Back the Graphics Drivers

If the dev error 6065 has started to occur just after the update of your graphics card driver, then rolling back the graphics driver to an earlier version may solve the problem.

  1. Exit the game and control panel of your graphics card.
  2. Roll Back NVIDIA Drivers to a previous stable version. If you are using another brand, then instructions will be nearly the same.
  3. After installing the older version of the graphics driver, launch the game and check if it is working fine.

Copy the Graphics Card Name in Config.cfg File

Config.cfg file is used by the game to load its configurations during launch. If it has conflicting entries for your graphics card, then it can result in the dev error 6065. In that case, removing the conflict from the entries may solve the problem.

  1. Exit the game.
  2. Open the Players folder of Call of Duty as mentioned in solution 9.
  3. Now open the Config.cfg file with notepad.
    Open Config.cfg File in Notepad
  4. Then scroll down till the end of the file. Here you will find the name of your graphics card. In the picture, it is shown as NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti (0x10de and blah blah).

  5. Copy the name till the start of the bracket. For example, you should copy GeForce GTX 1080 Ti for the picture mentioned above.
  6. Now start to scroll to the beginning of the file and where ever you see the name of your Graphics card or just graphics card, replace it with the copied name of your Graphics card (do not change setc1 and numbers values, just replace the graphics card part).
Replace the Name of the Graphics Card in the File
  7. Now save the changes and exit the file.
  8. Now relaunch the game and check if it is clear of the dev error 6065.

Solution 6: Tweak the Game’s Settings

To overcome it, you will be required to launch the game in safe mode. You will be given the option to launch the game in the safe mode when the game crashes and you relaunch the game. When prompted to launch the game in the safe mode, click on yes.
