Apple Doesn’t Advertise 5G Support for iPhones in India and Europe: Lack Of Services Make It Redundant Anyway

Apple had a great event with the iPhone 12 launch. Not only did the company announce four new phones, but the budget models also come with OLED displays now, something we did not expect according to the leaks. The main headlining features for the device were MagSafe, the new camera system and finally the 5G connectivity. Apple focused a lot of its new features to the ultra-fast speeds of the 5G connections available now. Now, the iPhones would be available in the coming month all over the world but there are certain restrictions apparently. From an Indian, where this news holds all of the relevance, there is a certain ambiguity.

Now, in certain countries in Asia and the European market, there is no sign of 5G anywhere. This raises the question of whether these iPhones would even support the technology.

Now, let’s look at it this way. Apple started the iPhone event, announcing that the new lineup of iPhones would have support for 5G all across the board. Not to mention, there was a presentation from the CEO of Verizon as well. A lot of features such as sharing the 10-bit video recording was based on the fast cellular 5G speeds. Now, since this is the case, why is Apple not providing these things to other countries.

Well, as a lot of us know, 5G technology still seems like quite the gimmick. Even in first-world nations like the US, there is limited availability and there is no consistency to it. Meanwhile, a lot of countries like India do not have the service as till yet. Therefore, Apple didn’t advertise it as such because it is simply not relevant. Just to clarify though, all the new iPhones do support 5G and would run the network if it is available!
